Getting insurance through the TKGB

TKGB provides you with a range of insurance cover packages. These are all optional and are provided as a service to all members and groups. If you are interested in taking advantage of one or more of these schemes, please Contact Us. Please note that cover does not commence until your proposal has been accepted.

3rd Party Member to Member Liability

This policy provides indemnity for your legal liability for damages, including claimant legal costs arising out of accidental injury to another person [other than employees], accidental loss or damage to third party property, nuisance and trespass, and member to member liability. This includes:

General Third Party Indemnity
Indemnity to Organising Group as well as Individual Members
Limited to the UK only. Minimum age 5 years.
Open Tournament Cover is not covered under this policy and is available separately.
Indemnity Level £2,000,000

Costs
£2.50 per member per year, reducing in steps for groups over 75 members. We can cater for groups that wish to have a single renewal date - please just let us know when you want your licenses to expire if so.

Instructor Indemnity

This provides indemnity to an instructor for liability arising from their instruction, demonstration or supervision of Martial Arts activity including legal defence costs. All persons who teach or supervise must arrange this cover either through TKGB or through another source. Applicants must have a verifiable qualification or grade and be connected to a club or association of some kind. Indemnity Level £2 million, £5 million or £10 million. Minimum age at application 18 years and minimum 1st Dan/degree black belt.

Costs
£2m costs £70 per year, £5m costs £90 per year, £10 costs £110 per year.

Special Event Insurance

If you are running a competition, course or other event that will be open to non-TKGB members, you will require special event insurance which is available through us. Please enquiries[at]tkgb[dot]org to inform us of the details as soon as you know them and we will send you the insurance form.

£1m costs £31.25 per event, £2m costs £41.75 per event, £5m costs £52.25 per event, £10m costs £80.75 per event

Instructor Personal Accident Cover

This policy will provide a benefit to a full-time instructor sustaining injury during the course of their martial arts activity. Benefits:

Death - £100,000
Permanent Total Disablilty - £100,000
Loss of limb[s] or eye[s] - £100,000
Temporary Total Disablement* - £200 per week

* Payable for a maximum of 52 weeks
Exludes the first 4 weeks of disablement
Age limit from 5 to 70 years

Benefits are a capital payment except TTD which is a weekly allowance.
