Membership of the TKGB
Criteria For Membership
Membership is offered to all associations, groups and individuals, who study Karate of Okinawan and Japanese origin, or associated disciplines, practiced in the traditional way (reflecting the 3K's - Kihon, Kumite and Kata), and where the group/individual understands and practices Budo concepts central to their training.Groups and associations applying for membership must meet the following criteria.
- A designated Chief Instructor or Chairman
- An up to date constitution
- A clearly defined grading syllabus for both Kyu and Dan grades
- Evidence of these will be asked for on application to membership of TKGB
Everyone applying for membership of the TKGB will be vetted by the Executive Committee (including the Technical Committee as applicable). The committee members will aim to visit our applicants in person (subject to location) allowing both parties to put 'a face to the name' and for us to provide a more personal service.
