Costs for our services

Excellent value for small and large groups

We offer competitive rates for small groups and discount rates for larger groups. Please email membership[at]tkgb[dot]org if you wish to purchase any services or if you require any more information regarding them.

Our philosophy is that the services we offer are available to all members on an optional basis - groups can take as many or as few of our services as they wish and can add more as time goes on if they require.

Payment is accepted either by cheque or Paypal within 7 days of the invoice being sent. As PayPal charge for transactions being received, there is surcharging added on for PayPal payments. These are +3.4% +20p per payment. Invoices will include the price for paying by cheque and the price for paying by PayPal - groups are free to use which of these services for paying they prefer.

Affiliation certificates

As part of the initial joining (retrospectively about to be issued for existing groups) you will be sent one certificate confirming membership of the TKGB. If you require a certificate per dojo or member-club, these are available for £2 each. Each year that you are a member, you will be sent a new affiliation certificate.

There is no affiliation fee or yearly group membership fee - you only pay for the services you require

Licenses

Membership only
This is designed for people who want to take advantage of some of our services, but who do not require insurance.

£1.00 per person per year

Insurance and membership
Every member of the group, including instructors need member-to-member insurance, we supply this on an annual basis and can pro-rata the start date if groups require a specific renewal date for their whole group - please contact us for details. Basic rate of membership and insurance is £3.00 per person, with discounts available when your membership passes 75, 150, 225 and 300.

1 - First 75 members £3.00 each
2 - Next 75 members £2.50 each
3 - Next 75 members £2.00 each
4 - Next 75 members £1.50 each
5 - Remaining students £1.00 each

Please note that these discounts work along the same lines as UK Tax brackets - the calculations are not as straight forward as just multiplying the number of people by a set price. On the 1st April each year, the count of members insured is reset to 0 and you build your discount again.
Note: Membership only does not count towards the discounts for insurance.

Personal accident cover is also available, for £2.50 per person.

Note regarding under 4's
Students under the age of 5 may join the TKGB as members, but cannot have insurance until they turn 4 as our insurers cannot insure children under 4 for martial arts. Students aged 3 when licensing will automatically get insurance on their 4th birthday for no increase in costs for the duration of that license (max 12 months).

There is a calculator available on this site to allow you to see how all these prices will work for your groups. Please don't forget to include instructors as they need member-to-member insurance as well.

Log books

We now offer TKGB branded log books for £2.50 each, these are dark blue with silver guilt embossing and contain all the usual features - pages for gradings, courses, qualifications, competitions, insurance slips, declaration etc.

Certificates

Kyu / Sen / Merit Certificates

We offer packs of blank A4 Kyu grade, Sen grade (if you have interim grades) and Merit (for club-specific rewards, not for grading or instructor/assessor use) certificates for you to use at you clubs. These can be customised to have the group and examiner names printed on (where applicable) if desired - just let us know. You can order whatever mixture of the certificates you require in the quantities below.

5 for £5.00 (£1.00 each)
10 for £9.00 (£0.90 each)
25 for £20.00 (£0.80 each)

Dan grades
We offer packs of A3 dan grade certificates for you to use at your clubs. These can be customised to have the group and examiner names printed on if desired - just let us know.

2 for £10.00 (£5.00 each)
5 for £22.50 (£4.50 each)
10 for £40.00 (£4.00 each)

Please note that we do not currently ratify kyu or dan grades, the certificates are provided for you to issue your own grades and register them with us on the forthcoming self-service page.

Instructor Insurance

We offer three levels of PI insurance for instructors:

£2m for £70 per year
£5m for £90 per year
£10m for £110 per year

These can be bought through us using the form on the documents page, which needs to be signed and returned to the address on the form with full payment (you no longer need to send a SAE).

Special Event Insurance

This is for open courses and competitions, where non-TKGB people will be training and need to be insured. Costs are:

£30.00 for £1m cover
£40.00 for £2m cover
£50.00 for £5m cover
£80.00 for £10m cover

The period of cover lasts for the duration of the event (max 2 days and 5000 attendees) and is not per-day.
Please note that special event insurance is for groups who have TKGB-provided insurance and have been affiliated for a minimum of 6 months. 1 month notice is required in writing (email is fine) to Andy for this to be set up and a certificate will be issued to those meeting the requirements.

CRB Checks

We have different agencies for England/Wales than for Scotland with different costs and procedures involved.

England / Wales
Enhanced CRB checks are available for £36.00, please contact us for the forms.

Scotland
Enhanced CRB checks are available for £36.00 (includes a visit by a countersignatory) plus 20p per mile if the countersignatory needs to visit you, please contact us for the forms.
